Summary
A Collectors Universe forum member reported finding another suspected fake PSA-style slab on a 1966 Topps card (a low-population leader card) that had sold on eBay and was relisted for much more; the poster says it was reported to eBay and PSA. The same poster described an earlier 1966 Topps "PSA 9" Carl Yastrzemski he won on eBay whose label font, barcode and spacing looked off, and whose cert number matched an earlier sale of a different card with a different flip and barcode. Per the poster, that sale was cancelled and the card was relisted more than once; he reported it relisted on Oct 17, 2026 and said eBay took the listing down after his report on Oct 18, 2026. Other forum members said the label font and spacing did not match genuine slabs of that era and that the two listings appeared to show two different cards.
Reported diagnostics
- Label font and letter spacing differ from genuine PSA labels of the same era (forum members cite the gap between "1966" and "Topps")
- Same cert number seen on an earlier sale of a different card, flip and barcode
- Barcode reported not to match
- Item reported relisted after a cancelled sale
What to do
Run the cert at psacard.com/cert yourself and compare the card to past sales and images for that exact cert number; a reused cert on a different card is a stop.
